Milky Tea recently finished work on an interactive flash game for brand leaders Fairy to promote their new Platinum washing-up liquid.

The game, which launched on Fairy‘s Facebook page last month, took the form of a classic pinball game with a twist. Players were invited to battle against washing-up perils such as burnt on casserole and left over lasagna in their quest for the top spot.  The game formed part of a competition to win a meal prepared by Michelin starred chef Michael Cainnes at the Fairy Platinum ‘Clean Your Own’ pop-up restaurant in London’s iconic Oxo Tower.  The cheery and highly-addictive creation was a hit with users, with more than 16,000 people entering.

A children’s drama series featuring illustrations from Milky Tea will enjoy its radio debut this month. Made in Manchester’s ‘Suzie Pugh and a Monster Too’ has been commissioned by Fun Kids, theUK’s only radio station dedicated solely to children.

Featuring the talents of Coronation Street actress Vicky Binns as the heroine, the acclaimed radio-drama follows the adventures of Suzie and Smert, a purple alien who lives in her garden shed. The 10-episode series will kick-off on 24th September, just in time for half-term!

Milky Tea had the pleasure of working with the award-winning production company last year after being granted the task of bringing the characters to life.

With ‘Suzie Pugh’ now scheduled alongside the likes of Thomas the Tank Engine and Angelina Ballerina, Made in Manchester producer Phil Collinge is delighted with the radio medium.  “This is radio for young kids – and they love it! he explains. “They like using their imaginations and the silly stories and daft noises never fail to amuse them.

Speaking about her new role Vicky Binns says: “Playing Suzie Pugh is a joy. We have as much fun doing it as children do listening to it.”

Children can now interact with Suzie and Smert via their Facebook page as well as listening to the show.

Milky Tea Studios helps Clarks deliver a value-for-money school shoes message to parents

Milky Tea Studios, the Liverpool-based 3D illustration and animation studio and Clarks, the leading name in children’s school shoes have collaborated to deliverClarksbrand proposition in an engaging way to parents eager to bag an early back-to-school bargain.

When Nick Reeve, head ofClarksin-house creative department approached Milky Tea to design a fully motorized 1768mm x 1950mm model of a fantasy wear test lab for its shop windows, the brief was to create eye-catching and fun artwork to support a serious underlying message.

“There are cheaper school shoes out there,” explained Reeve, “but buying them really is a false economy. The fact isClarksschool shoes are thoroughly wear-tested and proven to last longer. So mum’s and dad’s money goes further. And that’s an important message in the current economic climate.”

Building on Reeve’s vision, the team at Milky Tea put together the creative concept for approval. Working closely withClarksto create an impactful and impressive piece of artwork, Milky Tea needed to ensure that the design was fit for purpose. Each template had to be created with precision so that when printed, each piece slotted together perfectly to form a fully working model.

“There are great benefits to working directly with the end client,” says Jon Holmes, Milky Tea’s managing director.  “If we are involved in a project right at the start then we gain a good understanding of what needs to be achieved and we can add value as an external studio. Direct contact and clear communication with the client also helps the project to progress faster, with fewer artwork amendments. Good relationships and building trust are crucial to successful projects.”
