Fairy Clean-Up With Milky Tea Facebook Game

Milky Tea recently finished work on an interactive flash game for brand leaders Fairy to promote their new Platinum washing-up liquid.

The game, which launched on Fairy‘s Facebook page last month, took the form of a classic pinball game with a twist. Players were invited to battle against washing-up perils such as burnt on casserole and left over lasagna in their quest for the top spot.  The game formed part of a competition to win a meal prepared by Michelin starred chef Michael Cainnes at the Fairy Platinum ‘Clean Your Own’ pop-up restaurant in London’s iconic Oxo Tower.  The cheery and highly-addictive creation was a hit with users, with more than 16,000 people entering.

“The Fairy Pinball game was a great project to be involved in,” explains studio manager Lynsey Pritchard. “We were asked to develop an interactive flash game for Facebook which was light-hearted and entertaining.

“We created initial concepts, iterating the designs to achieve the best possible game-play experience. The other main objective was to create a warm, engaging Fairy character,” she explains. “We wanted to ensure that we successfully captured the essence of the Fairy brand and develop a character that the audience could really identify with. We found each stage of the production very rewarding and spent quality time on each phase. We researched characters, created initial concepts, polished the approved Plongeur character and produced the final 3D version in order to bring the character to life!

“We thoroughly enjoyed developing the game and are extremely pleased with the end result! It’s a fun product and a truly interactive experience that people can play time and time again!”

Milky Tea‘s managing director Jonathan Holmes said:  “We worked alongside the amazing team at London based agency Proximity on this project, a relationship that’s been forged working together on the renowned Lloyds TSB ‘For The Journey’ campaign. Both organisations compliment and respect each others strengths really well and hope that this is the beginning of many more projects working with the likes of Fairy and other brands.  Proximity are fantastic agency and think that collaboration is definitely the way forward and feel many more creative agencies and production studios should be more open to the same approach.”
